Named Museum Head Dr. Seiichiro Takahasi, president of the Japan Arts Academy and former Education Minister has been appointed president of the National Museum.
The post has remained vacant after former president Naokai Ueno was transferred to the presidency of the Tokyo Arts University.
Dr. Takahashi will hold the presidency of the Japan Arts Academy concurrently with his new post.
