INTRA-SETION MEMORANDUM
FROM: Acting Chief, RCR Division
TO: Chief, CIE Section
SUBJECT: Completed Date on National Leader Projects

  1. In compliance with Intra-Section Memorandum from Chief of Section dated 20 Jun 50, subject as above, the following materials on National Leader Project No.150 are submitted herewith.
  2. Attention is invited to the fact that the knowledge of English of the proposed participants Atarashi, Yamanobe, and Yawata are good, fair and poor, respectively. The first two can carry on current conversation; the last is unable to although he reads and writes English. Mr. Atarashi, however, who has been to the United States previously could act as a capable guide for the party, and in the field of Museum Education it is believed that much can be learned through the eye by observation alone. It is presumed that Yawata will receive adequate support from the other two participants and that he is technically in a good position to profit fully by his experience and pass on his findings as a "national leader" to others upon his return.
